ResearchI am a molecular evolutionary biologist. I combine molecular, morphological and ecological data with bioinformatic tools to investigate the evolution and systematics of plants. My main interest is the plant genus Acacia but I work on many plants including orchids, Eucalyptus and the whole flora of Australia. My overall goal is to use my research and management skills to inform and guide public policy for better environmental outcomes.Publications6- speciesLink: rich data and novel tools for digital assessments of biodiversity Journal Article Canhos D A L , Almeida E A B , Assad A L , Cunha Bustamante M M d , Canhos V P , Chapman A D , Giovanni R D , Imperatriz-Fonseca V L , Lohmann L G , Maia L C , Miller J T , Nelson G , Peterson A T , Pirani J R , Souza S d , Stehmann J R , Thiers B , 2022 Biota Neotropica (Date Added: 2022-09-02) 5- Spatial phylogenetics of the Chinese angiosperm flora provides insights into endemism and conservation Journal Article Zhang X , Ye J , Laffan S W , Mishler B D , Thornhill A H , Lu L , Mao L , Liu B , Chen Y , Lu A , Miller J T , Chen Z , 2021 Journal of Integrative Plant Biology (Date Added: 2022-01-10) 4- Phyllodes and bipinnate leaves of Acacia exhibit contemporary continental-scale environmental correlation and evolutionary transition-rate heterogeneity Journal Article Renner M A M , Foster C S P , Miller J T , Murphy D J , 2021 Australian Systematic Botany (Date Added: 2021-12-30) 3- Data integration enables global biodiversity synthesis Journal Article Heberling J M , Miller J T , Noesgaard D , Weingart S B , Schigel D , 2021 Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (Date Added: 2021-11-05) 2- Plant and fungal collections: Current status, future perspectives Journal Article Paton A , Antonelli A , Carine M , Forzza R C , Davies N , Demissew S , Dröge G , Fulcher T , Grall A , Holstein N , Jones M , Liu U , Miller J , Moat J , Nicolson N , Ryan M , Sharrock S , Smith D , Thiers B , Victor J , Wilkinson T , Dickie J , 2020 Plants People Planet (Date Added: 2021-11-05) 1- Increased diversification rates are coupled with higher rates of climate space exploration in Australian Acacia (Caesalpinioideae) Journal Article Renner M A M , Foster C S P , Miller J T , Murphy D J , 2020 New Phytologist (Date Added: 2021-11-05) |
